Dhaulagiri I is the seventh highest mountain in the world 8176 meters above sea level, remains within the boundry of Nepal. The Dhaulagiri Massif  in Nepal extends 70 miles (120 km) from Kali Gandaki west to Bheri. The stunning massif is bounded on the north & southwest by trinutaries of the Bheri River & on the southeast by Myagdi Khola. Mount Dhaulagiri Expedition was first ascent on 13 may 1960 by team of Austrain, swiss & Nepali. Kuet Diemberger, Peter Diener , Trnst Forre, Albin Schelberts, Nyima Dorji & Nawang Dorji were member of expedition.

 

The Dhaulagiri Massif has 5 ridges and 2 faces in South & Western aspects. Each rise 4000m from their respected base camps. Dhaulagiri has 5 summit peaks: Dhaulagiri I is (8167m/26,795ft) Dhaulagiri II (7751m/25,430ft) Dhaulagiri III (7715m/25,311ft) Dhaulagiri IV (7661m/25,135ft) Dhaulagiri V  (7618m/24,992ft) Surrounding the massive 8000m peak is: Churen Himal Main (7371m/24,183ft) Gurja Himal (6342m/20,807ft) Putha Hiunchuli (7246m/23,772ft) Junction Peak (4235m/13,894ft).

Trekking deep into the Dhaulagiri region offers mind-blogging views of Mt. Dhaulagiri, Annapurna I,  Thorong La Peak, & Kali Gandaki, the World’s deepest gorge. We have to cross two high pass; French pass, (5360m) and Dhampus pass (5,182m) before the base camp at 5,300 meters altitude. From Dhaulagiri base camp our real awe-inspiring, terrific but full of thrilling & fatigue route follow through alpine & moraine trail. Moreover Dhaulagiri expedition around the Dhaulagiri massif, delivering the beauty and wilderness of Nepal’s remote area, which truly is an adventure to any trekking connoisseur.

 

Dhaulagiri is normally climbed from the Northeast Ridge route. Normally, we set up four base camp above Dhaulagiri base camp. The advanced base camp 5300 meters,  Camp I 5900 meters,  Camp II 6400 meters, Camp III 7200 meters, Camp IV 7500 meters but it may vary upon weather condition as well unseen circumstances . Mount Dhaulagiri Expedition commences from Kathmandu after taking scenic drive to Beni. You will trek across the captivating trail before reaching on the first base camp.

The best time of year to go for the expedition is spring season (September – November) as well as autumn Season (March – May).

Day 01: Arrival at Kathmandu and transfer to hotel

 

Day 02-04: In Kathmandu optional tour and preparation for Mt. Dhaulagiri Expeditions

 

Day 05: Drive or fly to Pokhara 950m (30 mins flight and 6 hrs drive)

 

Day 06: Drive to Darbang 1,200 m via Beni 900 m -06 hrs

 

Day 07: Trek to Riverside1, 700 m – 04 hrs

 

Day 08: Trek to Bagar 2,375m -05 hrs

 

Day 09: Trek to Dovan 2,600m-06 hours

 

Day 10: Trek to Chartare / Bhaisi Kharka 3,000m -05 hrs

 

Day 11: Trek to Pakhaban (Japanese Camp.) 3,750m -05 hrs

 

Day 12: Trek to Dhaulagiri Base Camp 4,750m – 06 hrs

 

Day 13: At base camp free day for acclimatization and rest

 

Day 14: At base camp preparation for the climb to world 7th highest Mt. Dhaulagiri

 

Day 15: Climb to Advance Camp 5,600 m.

 

Day 16-30: Ascent to Dhaulagiri of 15 days duration for the climb and preparations

 

Day 31-32: Back to Base Camp.

 

Day 33: Clean up and packing end of expeditions.

 

Day 34: Trek to Hidden Valley 4,900m via French Pass 5,360m.

 

Day 35: Trek to Yak Kharka 4,915m – 05 hrs.

 

Day 36: Trek to Marpha 2,670 m – 05 hrs.

 

Day 37: Drive back to Pokhara – 06 hrs.

 

Day 38: Drive or fly back to Kathmandu and transfer to respective hotels

 

Day 39- 40: In Kathmandu free day with individual activities

 

Day 41: Departure Day
