Kangchenjunga 8,586 meters /28,169 ft is the third highest mountain in the world, and lies partly in Nepal and partly in Sikkim, India. Mount Kangchenjunga lies about 125 km /78 miles east-south-east of Mount Everest. The literal meaning of Kanchenjunga coined from Tibetan word ‘Kanchen’ and ‘Dzonga’ translated means “The Five Treasures of the Great Snows”, as it contains five majesty peaks, Kanchenjunga I 8586 meters/ 28,169 ft, Kanchenjunga West 8505 meters/ 27,904 ft, Kanchenjunga South 8494 meters/ 27,867 ft , Kangchenjunga Central 8,482 meters /27,828 ft, & Kangbachen 7903 meters/ 25,928 ft. Kangchenjunga Himal that is limited in the west by the Tamur River, in the north by the Lhonak Chu and Jongsang La, and in the east by the Teesta River. Mount Kanchenjunga Expedition was first climbed by Joe Brown & George Band, who were part of a British expedition on 25 May 1955.
The Kangchenjunga landscape is a complex of three distinct ecoregions: the eastern Himalayan broad-leaved and coniferous forests, the Eastern Himalayan alpine shrub & meadows and the Terai-Duar savanna and grasslands. The Kangchenjunga transboundary landscape is shared by Nepal, India, China, Bhutan, and comprises 14 protected areas with a total of 6,032 square kilometers. We can find more than 251 species of birds, wild animal, 15 among Nepal’s endemic flowering plants, 20 indigenous gymnosperms, 30 varieties of rhododendron and 69 varieties of orchids etc. in this conservation area.

The bewitching Mount Kanchenjunga Expedition adventure begins with a scenic flight, covering the range of mountains from Langtang, Everest to Kanchenjunga heading toward the south Gangetic plain of Eastern Nepal. After that our exciting drive leads to hill town at Ilam which is famous for its tea’s and huge tea garden. From there, our quite strenuous adventure will begin but for every hard effort, you will be rewarded with brilliant scenery as our walk leads higher towards windswept and rugged terrains with awesome views of the towering peaks of the Kanchenjunga massif under a clear wide blue sky.
