Larke Peak listed in the category of Trekking Peaks of Nepal with climbing grade as AD + which means ‘Assez Difficule‘ taken from widely used and popular French / Swiss Alpine Climbing Classification. Since 1991 manaslu region is opened for foreign travelers. Government of Nepal`s special permit is required to get entry in manaslu region.
Manaslu is least visited region; you will meet few numbers of trekkers which makes your visit here more interesting and exotic. So it has still its own natural extraordinary virginity of beauty that every Trekker can have the maximum satisfaction of nature’s paradise here.
Larke Peak Climbing starts from Kathmandu taking an exciting overland journey to reach Nepal Mid-West region around Gorkha district at Arughat town and Soti-Khola. From there our adventurous walks begins following Buri-Gandaki River upstream to upper Manaslu valley.
Tour to tackle with high technical section to encounter on climb with steep climbing or long snow/ice slopes above 50 degrees; which is highly suitable for experienced alpine climbers only.
With base camp at Larke Phedi where our adventure starts to reach its tough summit top, one of the most technical trekking peaks in all Nepal Himalaya, where climb leads on rock, snow and ice of 45 to 50 degrees angle, requiring full climbing gears and the climber needs to have well experience on snow ice and rock climb.
The statuesque Himalayan ranges in this area belonging to cultural diversities & natural sceneries with high altitude’s attractive glacier lakes, enchanting flora and fauna etc. are all the valuable natural assets of manaslu region.
Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to hotels.
Upon your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, Trek Nepal Himalayas representative will welcome you, and will assist you to the hotel . Get refreshed from Jetlag. Overnight at Hotel.
Day 02: In Kathmandu optional tour and preparation for Larke Peak Climbing
A day in Kathmandu free for full preparations and packing as well to purchase necessary equipment, to obtain permits from concern Government department for the Larke Peak climbing.
During sightseeing visit Soyambhunath-The Monkey Temple, Pashupatinath-The crematory place, Boudhanath- Buddhist monastery and Kathmandu Durbar Square-ancient palace place. In the evening enjoy a welcome dinner in authentic Nepali restaurant with cultural program. Overnight at hotel.
Day 03: Drive to Sotikhola(700m./6-7 hours trek/ 150km. approx. ) (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Included)
Early morning, you will catch your bus from New Bus Park to Sotikhola. Along the way, you will pass several small and big settlements. Once you arrive in Soti Khola, your guide will transfer to the teahouse for the overnight. Overnight at the teahouse.
Day 04: Sotikhola to Machha Khola (869m./6-7 hours/12 km. approx.) (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Included)
Here you start your trekking. The trail is an easy trekking trail. Along the way, you will cross the small Gurung settlement called Lapubesi. From there you will continue you trekking through Khanibesi and ultimately to Machha Khola.
From Machha Khola you can collect the North East view of Ganesh Himal. Overnight at a teahouse.
Day 05: Machha Khola to Jagat (1340m./7-8 hours/15 km. approx.) (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Included)
From Machha Khola the trails slowly ascend to Khorlabesi which offers you the wonderful view of Ganesh Himal. Along the way, at Yaru Phat you can see an amazing waterfall. You then trek through the rock and stone paved trail.
Just before Jagat, you will pass a bridge that is made of the rock. From Jagat, you can enjoy the superb views of Sringi Himal. Overnight at a teahouse.
Day 06: Jagat to Deng(1860m./6-7 hours/12km. approx.) (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Included)
The trail to Deng is mostly rough at uphill. Deng is another small Gurung settlement which offers the superb views of Siringi Himal. Mani wall is another attraction of Deng. Overnight at the teahouse.
Day 07: Deng to Namrung (2630m./6-7 hours trek/12km. approx.) (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Included)
The trail from Deng to Ghap combines uphill, downhill and the easy trekking path. From Deng you will first get to Ghap, then you will trek through the dense pine and rhododendron forest to get Namrung for the overnight.
Namrung is a small Gurung village which offers the stunning views of Siringi Himal and Ganesh Himal. Namala Gompa is another attraction of Namrung. Overnight at Namrung.
Day 08: Namrung to Lho (3180m./4-5 hours/9km. approx.) (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Included)
The trail from Namrung to Lho is an easy trekking route. The wonderful view of Manaslu mountain greets us all the way. At Lamagaon you can collect the magnificent views of Himchuli. Little ahead, Sho welcomes with wonderful views of the Manaslu North face and Naike Peak. From Lho you can catch the panoramic view of Manaslu Massif. Rimung Monastery and the Mani walls are the another attractions of Lho. Overnight at Lho.
Day 09: Lho to Samagaon(3520m./4-5 hours trek/8 km. approx.) (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Included)
Walk through the Mani walls then pass a big Chortens before Shyala then you will continue the trekking to Samagaon. Manaslu will accompany you all the way to Samagaon. Samagaon is a wonderful Gurung village with Tibetan like traditions and culture plus the views of Manaslu, Larke peak and Naike Peak is absolutely fantastic. Overnight at a teahouse.
Day 10: Acclimatization day. (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Included)
An extra day in Samagoan is always worthwhile. Today you can either hike up to Manaslu Base Camp(4400m.) or visit the wonderful Birendra Tal. On the free time, you can just relax. Overnight at the teahouse.
Day 11: Samagaon to Samdo (3875m./4-5 hours trek/8km.approx. ) (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Included)
From Samagaon, you will take steep uphill trail first to Kyonggma Kharka where you can see the stone huts plus long Mani walls. The trail to Samdu is not too far can be done within few hours but due to high altitude within dry air makes the walk slower.
Samdo will welcome you with stunning views of Naike and Pangboche peak. You can also explore the Taka Chouling Gompa in Samdo. Overnight at Samdo.
Day 12: Samdo to Dharamsala (Larkya Phedi) (4460m./4-5 hours trek/8km approx.) (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Included)
The trail from Samdo first ascends to Larkya Bazar which is a fair seasonal Tibetan market. Further, you will trek to Larkya Phedi. You can enjoy the superb views of Larkya Peak and Naike Peak from Dharamsala. Overnight at Teahouse.
Day 13: Acclimatization Day at Larkya Phedi
A free day for acclimatization and preparation for the climb a short walk around and to scout the area of climbing routes, with time to explore this un-explored areas with stunning views of mountains of Manaslu.
Day 14: Trek and climb to establish High Camp at 5,050 m – 04 hrs
From the Base Camp at Larke Phedi, morning climb across base of Naike Peak and then head towards south to pitched our High Camp right beneath towering peaks of Larke at about 5,050 m high.
Here with adequate time for preparation where Trek Nepal Himalayas guide will do all necessary arrangement for the climb such as fixing ropes & pitching snow where necessary on route.
Day 15-16: Climbing Days to the summit of Larke Peak.
We have reserved two days for this adventurous and exciting climb to the summit of Larke Peak, the climb on first section can be quite strenuous with technical section in few areas, once atop above 6,249 m / 20,621 ft high, feeling high spirit marvel the fascinating views of whole Manaslu range of mountains.
These days hike offers mesmerizing view of Manaslu North Peak (7,154m), Bouddha, Manaslu and Himal Chuli peaks, after a wonderful and tough haul to the summit top. After a tough & challenging climb with splendid views descend to base camp safely towards larkya Phedi. Overnight at Teahouse.
Day 17: Reserve and contingency day in case of unfavorable weather
An acclimatization day in high altitude is worthwhile after great technical Larke Peak Climbing. In case of bad & Unfavorable weather condition we can utilize this day too. Sometimes with quick change in Himalayan climatic patterns my interrupt our Larke Peak Climbing schedule.
Day 18: Larkya Phedi to Larkya La pass(5160m.), further to Bimthang (3590m./6-7 hours trek/12 km. approx. ) (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Included)
One of the tough trekking day where you will first walk through the Moraine route to the pass. You can see the Larkya Glacier along the way.
During the pass, you can enjoy the magnificent views of Kanguru, Annapurna II, Himlung Cheo Himal, Gyaji Kang, Larkya Peak, Namjung Himal plus Ranta Chuli.After Larya La pass the trail is steep descent plus grassy moraine. As it is rock fall area walk carefully.
Upon your arrival in Bumthang, you can take a good rest with stunning views of Lamjung, Manaslu, Phungi south face, Himlung plus Cheo Himal. Overnight hotel.
Day 19: Trek to Gho 2,560 m From Bimthang – 05 hrs.
After breakfast, we set off for long day walk to Gho. Today is an easy day from here to Dharapani through thick forested area of pines, rhododendron trees with view of snow peaks.
From Bhimtang descend to the valley of Burdin Khola around the area and base of west side of Manaslu, from a ridge with excellent view of Manaslu towards south east with Annapurna II in the south west.
The trail leads over Dudh Khola, where descend follows a trail into a narrow valley within forest to reach our overnight stop amidst forest surrounding in perfect tranquility after 5 hours of good walk.
Day 20: Trek to Dharapani village 1,943m. 5-6 hours.
From here the track leads downhill into forest passing small summer settlement and then climb on a terraced fields to Karche La, and then down to Marsyangdi River.
After few hours of walk coming to the village of Tilje following Dudh (milky) river downstream, passing number of villages, including Thonje, where there is a check post.
From the Tilje an hour climb after crossing a bridge and then joining at main trail of Annapurna circuit joins in Dharapani village.
Dharapani a lovely large village will be a civilization after being in complete wilderness, where one can celebrate with a beer and buy hot shower from the lodge.
Day 21: Dharapani village to Chamje 1,410 m – 06 hrs.
Today`s Journey heads towards south, following main trail following Marsyangdi river downstream, on crossing second bridge walk leads downhill all the way to Tal Besi.
From Tal Besi, an easy walk for a while then descend with great views of waterfalls, after few hours of good walk brings you at Chamje village after crossing a small bridge, the ending point of our great trek and climb of this wonderful journey and adventure.
Day 22: Drive back to Kathmandu (1334m./6-7 hours trek/ 150km. approx.): (Breakfast and Dinner Included)
The final day of the trek, this day you will drive back to Kathmandu. In Kathmandu, you will have time for the last-minute shopping. Overnight.
Day 23: In Kathmandu free day for individual activities.
A free day in Kathmandu an opportunity for another sightseeing tour for few hours or just relax and use this day for own individual activities and shopping. In the evening , Trek Nepal Himalayas team organize farewell dinner at Typical Nepalese Restaurant. Overnight at Hotel.
Day 24: Departure Day
After wonderful experience around Manaslu region with successful climb on top of Larke La Peak will back to homeland today. Trek Nepal Himalayas representative will escort to international airport as per flight schedule. Hope to see you again.

I was pleased with Trek Nepal Himalayas from a price and quality of service standpoint. The trek is a challenge and a responsible and knowledgeable guide is essential for a safe and inclusive trip. I would use them again.
We went on a short tour to Bhutan and wow what an amazing place! It is so beautiful with its mountain regions and traditional culture. Visiting Tigers Nest monetarist was definitely the highlight of the Bhutan trip. We later returned to Kathmandu and made our way to Pokhara where we took off for the Annapurna Base Camp trek. This was my first time trekking and my fitness level is not the best but Badri and the boys (the sherpa's) were great at catering the trip to our needs. All timings along the way were perfect and we all got to ABC and back without a hitch. Badri and the boys made us feel like we were part of their family and were all smiles and fun. We all played cards together of a night where they taught us to play Dumbal and we taught them Uno. They went above and beyond to cater for us and were watching us like hawks for signs altitude sickness as we got closer to the top. All guest houses that we stayed out were pleasant and all had hot showers. Badri was well respected by the locals along the way and we were welcomed everywhere we went. I actually felt like a bit of a VIP on the mountain when we were trekking with Badri!
I really loved my experience in Nepal and all thanks to Trek Nepal Himalayas. I'm going to miss these guys and can't wait to go back!
I recently spent three and a half weeks holidaying in Nepal with Trek Nepal Himalayas. My partner and I arrived a few days early from the organised tour and Badri from Trek Nepal Himalayas was very accommodating to us by organising our extra accommodation, picking us up from the airport, and organised an extra day tour for us to Nagarkot which was really nice. They also arranged for us to visit the old palace (now a museum) and the Garden of dreams. After the rest of the group arrived we did some sight seeing around Kathmandu visiting the monkey temple, durbar square, the Boudhanath temple and the crematorium.
Our guide Nawin and and other guides arranged throughout the tour were all very knowledgeable of the history of each place that we visited and gave good commentary along the way. Next we went on a day trip to Badri's village. In organising this tour, our group wanted to help out after the earthquake. It turned out Badri's village was badly damaged by the quake and the school was destroyed.
When planing this trip we arranged with Badri for him to take us out to his village so we could make donations of stationary, toys and sporting goods to the school. The village was well off the beaten track and it was a unique opportunity to visit an area that tourists generally don't get to see. The scenery along the way was magic and the drive was quite an adventure. When we arrived the whole village was out to give us a warm friendly welcome with marigold flower necklaces and we each received a blessing. The kids were so excited to see us and were over the moon to receive our donations of stationary, sporting goods and toys.I t was a truly beautiful experience and these memories will stay in my heart forever. This went so well that Badri is now putting together optional side tours for future tour groups to visit his village and villages like his for tourists to make donations to the local schools. I highly recommend you do this as it is such a feel good moment and the emotional joy of it all will is so overwhelming it will make you teary.
A group of us trekked to Everest Base Camp with Trek Nepal Himalayas recently. It was a great trip that was full of memorable moments and amazing views. Our guide Badri was very patient with each of us. He was knowledgeable, encouraging, accommodating and helpful. He not only provided excellent guide services and made sure the group had a safe trip, but also took care of his porter team. Our trip wouldn’t be this successful without the encouragement and support from Badri and the assistant guide Karan. During the time we stayed in Kathmandu, Badri and his staff offered great assistance to ensure we had a great time. If you are planning to visit Nepal, I highly recommend Trek Nepal Himalayas.
Three weeks with Trek Nepal Himalayas was an incredible experience. Our adventure included a day tour of Kathmandu, Everest flight with champagne at sunrise, flights to Bhutan with a few days touring around there. Our highlight in Bhutan was the climb to Tiger's Nest monastery and the amazing views from there.
Ten days trekking to Annapurna Base camp was wonderful. Our guide Badri made sure all our needs were met along the way. Nawin, our first in charge was very accommodating as well as the other 3 porters who lugged our stuff so we only had to carry a day pack.
Sunrise at Poon Hill was a must as well as putting up prayer flags at sunrise at the summit of our trip, Annapurna base camp. Just fab.
