Panch Pokhari Trek is a new experience to five holy lakes through untouched traditional villages in enthralling Himalayan landscapes. The trek to Panch Pokhari at the base of Jugal Himal offers immaculate mountain views, rich culture and genuine adventure. The atypical climatic and geographical mix makes this area a naturalist’s dream and a mecca for those who appreciate traditional cultures.
Panch Pokhari Trek starts from 1,400m and goes up to 4,000m at Panch Pokhari, a sporadically visited pilgrimage site where the Janai purnima festival is held in August. Many Hindu and Buddhist pilgrimages visit this site each year. The top of Panch Pokhari (4100m) offers an bewitching view of Jugal Himal, Kanchenjunga (8586 m), Makalu (8485 m), Rolwalling Range, Gosainkunda etc.
The Panch Pokhari trek can be done all year round except for the monsoon months. This trek can be combined with canyoning, rafting, Paragliding & Bungee jumping tour in Nepal.
Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu Nepal & transfer into respective hotel (Dinner)
Upon your arrival in Tribhuvan International Airport, Trek Nepal Himalayas representative will be in airport to warm welcome in Himalayan country Nepal. After greetings our representative will escort you to the hotel for overnight.
Day 02: Drive from Kathmandu (1350m) to Chautara (1200m)(Breakfast /Lunch /Dinner)
Today, we drive to the stunning village Chautara which is headquarter of Sindupalchok district. Normally, the journey takes about 5- 6 hours to reach chautara. From Chautara, One can explore some panoramic mountain vista as well as impressive culture of local settlement. Overnight in Camp.
Day 03: Trek to Phurse (2045m.) from Chautara (Breakfast /Lunch /Dinner)
The trail to Phurse (2045 M) passes through some enthralling traditional village, farming terraces, meadow, green alps along with panoramic views of Mount Gauri Shanker(7134 M), Dorje Lakpa (6966 M) and much more. Our journey will start after delicious breakfast in Phurse and trail takes about 5-6 hours. In Phurse, we explore tradition, culture and living style of Tamang communities. Overnight in Camp.
Day 04: Trek to Kami kharka (2845m) from Phurse (Breakfast /Lunch /Dinner)
Early in the morning, we will ready for gentle ascending walk to Thulo OKhareni. After about 4-5 hours stiff walk through astonishing dense rhododendron & pine forest to Kami kharka (2845m) for overnight stay in camp. If luck in our side, we can see some endanger as well some local habitant wild animal i.e. mountain deer, Monkeys, Himalayan monal (Lophophorus impejanus) which is national bird of Nepal. Overnight in Camp.
Day 05: Trek to Pauwa Bas(3000m) from Kamikharka (Breakfast /Lunch /Dinner)
Today’s walk is nice and gentle, being fairly level (‘Nepali flat’) and we can enjoy our forest trails and wildlife spotting. We have about 5 to 6 hours through the lush forest of rhododendron, oak, pine and juniper and we can see some nomad’s houses for cattle on the way. In Pauwa Bas there is a shelter for pilgrims to Panch Pokhari.
Day 06: Trek to Hille Bhangyang (3400m) from Pauwa Bas (Breakfast /Lunch /Dinner)
After breakfast in Pauwa Bas, we leave to Hille Bhangyang which is or set destination for this day. This day we have a steep uphill stretch for about 3 hours, taking our time. We get our breath back on the steep downhill though as we descend for 1 ½ hours through the forest. We can see some impressive mountain vista from camp site. Overnight in Camp.
Day 07: Trek to Nasimpati (3700m) from Hill Bhangyang (Breakfast /Lunch /Dinner)
After breakfast, we set off from Hill Bhangyang for overnight stay in Nasimpati(3700m). The journey will take about 6-7 hours. We take it easy on the steep uphill section to start the day, taking about an hour. Then we enjoy the gradual descent of about 3 hours through rocky hills and rhododendron forest into camp at Narsim Pati. There is a small rest house for pilgrims on their way to the holy site of Panch Pokhari. We can embark massive view of snow-capped mountains from our camp site.
Day 08: Trek to Panch Pokhari(five holy ponds, 4100m.) from Nasimpati (Breakfast /Lunch /Dinner)
We tie up our lace after breakfast to reach our ultimate destination of Panch Pokhari Trek with Trek Nepal Himalayas Pvt. Ltd. We have about 3 hours of gradual ascent through shingly gradient to reach our destination of Panch Pokhari (panch means ‘five’ and pokhari means ‘lake or pothole’). This stunning setting is a sequestered pilgrimage site where the Janai purnima festival is held in August. We can see the Lord Shiva Tenple in Panch Pokhari. Overnight stay in Camp.
Day 09: Trek to Nasimpati (3700m.) from Panch Pokhari (Breakfast /Lunch /Dinner)
The stunning place Nasimpati is our set destination for this day. After breakfast , we leave Panch Pokhara camp for steep downhill walk to Lauri Binayak pass. The journey pass through small forest which is quite rich in alpine vegetation. Overnight in Camp.
Day 10: Trek to Dukang (2100m.) from Nasimpati (Breakfast /Lunch /Dinner)
The astonishing ancient monasteries, impressive landscapes, & traditional sherpa village is the attraction of this day`s trip. First, we descend down passing through forests covered with bamboos, rhododendron, pine, oak, juniper and other natural vegetation. We may also have chance to encounter Himalayan deer, white monkey and many others. We come across chortens, prayer flags fluttering in the breeze before reachingDukhang. Overnight in Camp
Day 11: Trek to Dhap (1200m.) from Dukang (Breakfast /Lunch /Dinner)
Dhap is home to Tamang families and is gives us a great chance to gain some insight into the lives, culture and traditional architecture of Tamang villages. Today`s journey is quite steep downhill and the rest is quite level as we make our way through terraced fields to the beautiful village of Dhap. The journey takes about 5-6 hours to reach our set destination. Overnight in Camp.
Day 12: Trek to Melamchi Bazaar (800m.) from Dhap (Breakfast /Lunch /Dinner)
After 6 hours gentle walk we can reach our set destination for this day. First, we walk down through terraced fields, along the Indrawati River. We pass through stunning villages and also see a hydro electricity project on the way to Tipini and our re-introduction to a road! Melamchi Pul Bazaar which lies at the bank of Melamchi Khola (stream) and Indrawati River is comparatively a big town for this area. We get some lodges, tea shops, government offices, schools, colleges, post office and army police camp in Melamchi Bazar. Overnight in Lodge.
Day 13: Drive to Kathmandu from Melamchi Bazaar (Breakfast /Lunch /Dinner)
Today, might be last day trekking with Trek Nepal Himalayas if you don`t have enough time to onward next trip in Nepal. We reach the city of temple Kathmandu after 5-6 hours scenic drive. Overnight stay at Hotel.
Day 14: Departure Day
If the guests have limited time to stay in Nepal then Trek Nepal Himalayas Pvt. Ltd. Representative will accompany to international airport as per schedule flight. We hope to see you again in Nepal. Have a Safe journey.
