Langtang valley trek is one of the famous trekking in Nepal Himalayas. Located in the North of the Kathmandu Valley bordering Tibet, trekking in Langtang offers to explore the rich cultural and natural wonders of Langtang region.The majority of the people here are Tamangs and the culture and traditions are influenced by the Tibetan cultures. During the Langtang trekking, you will be trekking through Langtang National park and the vegetation here is a mix of subtropical and alpine forest which includes oak, maple plus the rhododendron. Langtang National Park is also the home for several wild animals including the Himalayan Black Bear, Rhesus Monkeys, Himalayan Tahr plus the endangered red pandas.
The wonderful views of the Langtang Himalayan ranges and the exploration Kyanjin Gomba- Buddhist Monastery which is believed to be 400 years are the other attractions of Langtang Valley Trekking.
The best seasons for Langtang Valley Trek are spring (March-May) and autumn (September-November).
Note: Langtang village was hugely affected by a massive avalanche followed by the devastating earthquake in 2015 April. The valley is recovering well. And visiting Langtang will not just a trekking.
Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to the hotel (1334m.)
Upon your arrival at Kathmandu Airport, one of our representatives will welcome you and transfer to the hotel. In the free time, you can take a good rest. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 2: Kathmandu Valley Sightseeing and preparation day.
Full day Kathmandu valley sightseeing is dedicated to introducing four of the UNESCO World Heritage listed in Kathmandu. This day you will first visit Soyambhunath-The Monkey Temple, Pashupatinath- a Hindus pilgrimage site and the crematory place, Boudhanath-The largest stupa in South Asia and Kathmandu Durbar Square a historical palace place.
After the sightseeing, you will have the pre-trip meeting for the trip. Then after you will go for a welcome dinner in a Nepali traditional restaurant with a cultural program. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 3: Drive to Syabrubesi (7-8 hours drive/1503m./ 200 km approx. )
By Local Bus: As there are no tourist buses going, one of the ways to travel Syabrubesi is by local bus. If you are going with the local bus then, your journey will start early morning around 7:00 am in the morning.
Private Vehicle: Next option to travel to Syabrubesi is by a private vehicle.
The journey to Syabrubesi is wonderful itself. Along the way, you will travel through the green hills crossing several small and big settlements including Trishuli Bazar and Betrawoti to Syabrubesi. Overnight at the teahouse.
Day 4: Trek to Lama Hotel (2789m./5-6 hours trek/ 8km approx.)
The trail to Lama Hotel is easy. You will be trekking through the oak and rhododendron forests. Trekking in spring becomes more beautiful as you will be trekking through the rhododendron forest. Overnight at a teahouse.
Day 5: Trek to Langtang Village (3430m./5-6 hours trek/8 km approx. )
After the breakfast, you will take a step up trail to Gumnachowk, then continue witnessing the wonderful landscapes, waterfalls to Ghodatabela. After Ghoda Tabela you will start to see the wonderful views of the Langtang Himalayan ranges. Continue the trek to Langtang valley. Overnight at the teahouse.
Note: Langtang Valley was hugely affected by the devastating earthquake of 2015. But the tea houses are easily available now.
Day 6: Trek to Kyanjin Gumba (3830m./5-6 hours trek/8 km approx.)
After enjoying a wonderful day in Langtang Valley, this day you will trek to Kyanjin Gumba. The trail to Kyanjin Gompa is easy and interesting. Trekking through the largest Mani walls of Nepal makes the trekking memorable. Once you are in Kyanjin Gumba, you can visit the Buddhist shrine and the views of the mountains are absolutely fabulous. Overnight at the teahouse.
Kyanjin Gompa: Kyanjin Gompa monastery of Buddhist which is believed to be at least 400 years old.
Day 7: Rest Day. Hike Tserko Ri (4984m./ 6-7 hours)
An acclimatize day in Kyanjin Gumba is always worthwhile. Early morning you will trek up to Tserko Ri for the sunrise in the Langtang Himalayan Ranges. After collecting the wondering views you will trek back to Kyanjin Gompa. In the free time, you can explore around the monastery. Overnight at the teahouse.
Day 8: Trek back to Lama Hotel (2769m./ 6-7 hours trek/ 12 km approx. )
After spending two wonderful days at Kyanjin Gompa, this day you will trek down all the way back to Lama Hotel. Overnight at the teahouse.
Day 9: Trek back to Syabrubesi (1503m./4-5 hours trek/ 7km approx. )
You will be taking the same way back to Syabrubesi. The trekking route is an easy way and is mostly descending. Overnight at the teahouse.
Day 10: Drive back to Kathmandu (1334m./7-8 hours/200 km approx.)
By Local Bus: As there are no tourist buses, local buses are one of the options.
Private Vehicle: Next option to travel back to Kathmandu is by a private vehicle.
Along the way, you will travel through the green hills crossing several small and big settlements including Trishuli Bazar and Betrawoti to Syabrubesi. Upon you arrive in Kathmandu, your guide will transfer you to the hotel. In the free time, you can do some last minute shopping.
Day 11: Fly back home
You will be transferred to the Kathmandu Airport to catch your returning flight. Trip Ends.

Common AMS treatment
Descend down to the lower altitude and go up again once you feel better. If it does not improve even after descending or get worse then you should see the doctor.
Take the suggested medicine, take ibuprofen or paracetamol for a headache, if you feel sick then take anti-sickness medicines.
Always share your companions if you are not feeling well so that they can help you before it is too late.

Foods, you get during the trekking is safe and healthy. In the altitude, we recommend you to eat the local food and the vegetarian. Our guides are knowledgeable will take you to the best places for the food.
During the trekking, you can get the bottled water easily and it cost US$ 2 in the low elevations and US$ 3-4 in higher elevations. Next option would be, taking 1 or 2-liter water bottle plus the water purifier with you so that you can use tap or spring water.

Sometimes flights delay to and from Lukla are expected. In the worst case, if you cannot fly in/out Lukla, then we will arrange the sharing helicopter which normally cost US$ 500 extra per person.
