Your once-in-a-lifetime motorcycle adventure to Tibet begins today. Start your journey with a scenic ride to the Kerung Border (Nepal-Tibet Border). Complete the necessary border formalities at Nepalese immigration before proceeding to Chinese immigration. A Tibetan guide will greet you with your Tibet travel permit. After finishing Chinese immigration formalities, drive to Kerong town and check in to your hotel or guest house for the night.
Drive uphill today to the world’s highest plateau, where you’ll experience the breathtaking panorama of the Himalayan ranges, including Mt. Cho Oyu (8201m) and Mt. Xishapagma (8012m). Weather permitting, you’ll also be able to admire the magnificence of Mt. Everest (8848m) from Tingri.
Enjoy a scenic drive today, crossing over Gyatchu La (5,220m), the highest pass en route to Lhasa via Lhatse. From here, you’ll have the opportunity to take a side trip to Mt. Kailash.
In the morning, visit the Panchen Lama’s Tashilhumpu Monastery in Shigatse. Continue your drive to Gyantse, where you’ll visit Kumbum Stupa and Phalkor Monastery.
