Embark on the historic Jiri to Everest Trek, also called the “Classic Everest Trek,” a cherished journey that immerses you in Nepal’s rich cultural traditions and mesmerizing landscapes. This trek, commencing from the town of Jiri, takes you to the base of the world’s highest peak, Mount Everest, promising an experience of a lifetime.

After breakfast, we will catch our bus and will start our journey to Jiri. One the way we can collect some wonderful views of mountains including Ganesh Himal, -Langtang Lirung and Dorje Lakpa. It takes 7-8 hours to get Jiri from Kathmandu. O/N

The trail first passes Baranda to reach Likhu Khola. Further we continue climbing to Kenja-small village of Newars and Magars. We then cross Lamjura Pass will reach Sete. Stay overnight at Sete

The trail goes through the mountain forest of rhododendron and climb up to Goyom and then top of the Lamjura pass. We then descend down through the field and will finally reach Junbesi for overnight.

The trail first crosses the Junbesi Khola and head towards Phaplu. From there it passes through the forest of blue pine and oak and climb up to Khurtang where we can get glimpse of Everest, as well as Thamaserku and Mera peaks. Further we will trek to Nuntala for overnight. Overnight at Nuntala.

From Nuntala, we take descend trail to Dudhi Koshi River. We then we will walk through several Sherpa and Magar villages before entering the forest to reach Jubhing. From Jubhing we descend down and cross Khari Khola. From there we take ascending trail to reach Bupse. Overnight at Bupse.

From Bupse, enter the next valley and descend across the river. As you round the bottom of Khari La valley, you will see Cho Oyu and Gyachung Kang in front of you. Follow the valley for about three hours, slowly climbing out of it and up to the ridge. Entering the next valley, you will see the holy mountain of Khumbiyula. Climb upwards to meet the main trail from Lukla. You will pass a spectacular waterfall and gorge before emerging out into the pasture land surrounding Choplung. Overnight at Choplung.

Take breakfast and get ready for the trekking. This day we first trek to Phakding and from then we follow the Dhudhkoshi river and eventually trek upto Namche Bazar. Namche Bazar is widely famous as Sherpa Capital and is the trading center of Khumbu region. Overnight at Namche Bazar.

From Dingboche, the trail gradually climb up to Duglha. We then cross Duglha Pass the beginning of Khmubu Glacier and gradually trek up to Labuche. In Labuche we can find some typically stone design houses. Overnight.

Everest Base Camp (5,364m./17,594ft.)-Gorakshep: Day when we catch our ultimate dream. This day we start early morning from Labuche. The trail first go to Gorakshep for lunch. From Gorakshep we further hike up to Everest Base Camp. We can spend some time in Everest Base Camp. After then we trek back to Gorakshep for overnight. We can still get the superb views of mountains from our teahouse as well. Overnight.

Early morning, hike Kalapathar (5545m.)- Best mountain view point which offers the stunning views including:Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse and other neighboring peaks. Enjoy the picturesque views. Then we descend dow to Pheriche for overnight.

An easy walking day. With 4 hours gentle walk from Pheriche we reach Namche Bazar. Same way back via Tengboche. Overnight.

  • Two times airport pick and drop off by a private vehicle
  • Domestic flight tickets (Kathmandu to Lukla and Lukla to Kathmandu), including airport taxes. If airlines change flight destination to Ramechap to Lukla and Lukla to Ramechap- then transportation is included too.
  • Tea house accommodation during the trekking as per itinerary. (The rooms will be on a sharing basis and will not have an attached bathroom). If you want to upgrade, then let us know at the time of booking. (Still no attached rooms available in Lobuche and Gorakshep. Likewise, there are limited options in Tengboche, too).
  • Meals during the trekking (3 meals a day)
  • Government-licensed English-speaking trek leader. 1:8 ratio.
  • Assistant guide(s) if there are more than 8 trekkers in a group (1:9 ratio).
  • Porter to help with trekkers’ luggage. 2 trekkers will share 1 porter. The max weight limit for a porter- is 20 kg (10 kg per trekker, weight limit). You can store non-essential items in the Kathmandu hotel for free.
